MCV Education Fund is dedicated to educating voters on key conservation and environmental issues and fostering informed, effective citizen participation in government. This web site provides the tools you need to learn about pressing issues around Montana, voter registration, candidate information, state governmental information and a wealth of other voter participation services. The Map of Montana features:
* The Issues – A summary of key statewide and regional issues affecting our clean air and water, public health, open space, wildlife and citizen participation in government. Each issue summary includes links to the MCV Education Fund briefing papers and organizations working on these issues.
* The Candidates – A listing of all candidates running for each state legislative office, Public Service Commission office, Supreme Court office, U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives office. Information includes contact data, and biographies, photos, candidate stands on issues and position papers where available. We have linked each candidate to Project Vote
Smart for further information.
- Conservation and environmental issue
briefing papers:
Learn about key issues, the organizations, governmental agencies and other entities that work on these issues. MCV Education Fund mailed out an order form for these briefing papers to all candidates who had filed for office as of March 21, 2002 and has received requests from dozens of policy makers. You may download these briefing papers or submit an order form the MCV Education Fund.
- Voter Registration : Register to vote by the October 7, 2002 deadline if you plan to vote on November 5th. If you have moved, have never registered or are new to the state, don’t delay. Anyone registering after the October 7th deadline is not able to vote on November

- Vote by Mail: Obtain a vote by mail application here. MCV Education Fund urges people to go to the polls on November 5th, or vote early by obtaining an absentee ballot or going to the county courthouse and casting a ballot during normal business hours. th, but may vote in future elections.
- Voter Education and Voter Participation Organizations: MCV Education Fund is providing links to all political parties registered with the Montana Secretary of State, official sanctioned national political parties, Project Vote Smart, the Montana League of Women Voters, Institute for Money in State Politics and Project Vote Smart. These references provide you with additional information on candidates, campaigns, political parties and campaign finance issues of interest as you cast your ballot.
- Montana State Lands and Land Board: As part of MCV Education’s Fund ongoing public education program, Focus on Montana State Lands is published quarterly, featuring up-to-the minute issues affecting Montana’s state lands, and the decisions made by the state land board, comprised of Montana’s five top elected officials.
