Please don't hate me...

The Bronx Bombers I'm definitely not a sports fanatic, but I also can't pass as one of those folks who truly have no interest at all in jock-ular activities. During my little kid "When I grow up I want to..." years, I lived in West St. Paul, Minnesota, and every kid in my neighborhood wanted to grow up to play for the Twins. We could rattle off the starting line-up complete with stats and critiques. I don't remember them all, but I know it included Killebrew and Kaat. We were also known to waffle between our disdain and admiration of the most impressive force in baseball - the New York Yankees. This was the days of Mantle, Maris, and Berra. When trading baseball cards, these were the guys to get. When they came to play the Twins, they were the villains.

After moving from Minnesota, growing up, and NOT getting a contract to play for the Twins, I drifted away from baseball all together. Some years passed with my only awareness of the game being to stumble on the World Series on television. Then, a few years ago, I married into a family with roots in Syracuse, and slowly I found myself following the Yankees.

I don't really get to see many games, but I find my interest returning, so I follow when I can. Most days, I just keep up to date with the NY Post Yankees page online. Between the games, the Boss and Boston, it beats the hell out of the soaps.

Computers Unlimited The real thing. I went fulltime at Computers Unlimited on March 8. I'd been working for them part time since last August, doing technical support in their Internet Montana division before being offered full time. It's a software development company that specializes in software for gas/welding, home medical equipment, and pharmacy businesses. I am a neophyte procedural support rep, which right now translates into "really steep learning curve". It's a great place to work, and the people are very supportive and understanding, with most of them admitting to having been in my shoes at one time, so I'm sure I'll catch up, but lacking a welding, medical or pharmacy background, it's been a humbling and most challenging first three weeks.
